How To Serve Caviar With Style

We have long gotten used to the fact that caviar is almost an obligatory attribute of the holiday, especially the New Year. Partly because the prices for it bite, and one jar can cost more than a solid piece of meat. Therefore, I would like to know how to serve caviar with style effectively and not too wastefully

But it wasn’t always like that! The product became a delicacy only in the 19th century, appearing on the dining table of Nicholas II. The Europeans quickly took over and opened several caviar houses. It is surprising that before that, caviar was used as food for sled dogs, and sometimes even thrown away. Only the northern peoples (mainly sailors) guessed to dry it and used it as a ration.

You can’t return to the past, and now you need to pay a considerable amount for caviar. Luckily, we know how to present it wisely. Yes, so that the guests were delighted!

How To Serve Caviar With Style

Serving caviar with style is an art form. Not only does it involve the right ingredients and presentation, but it also requires an understanding of the history and traditions behind this luxurious delicacy. Whether you’re serving caviar for a special occasion or just want to add a touch of sophistication to your dinner table, here are a few tips to help you enjoy caviar with style.

Start with the basics:

When preparing caviar, it is important, to begin with, the freshest ingredients. Look for caviar that has been sustainably sourced from a reputable supplier, and make sure to read the label carefully to determine the type of caviar and its origin. The most common types of caviar are sturgeon, salmon, and whitefish.

Choose the right accompaniments:

Caviar can be enjoyed on its own, but it is best served with accompaniments that enhance the flavor and texture of the delicacy. The most classic accompaniments are thin slices of toast, blini, crème fraîche, and lemon wedges. To keep it simple, you can also serve caviar with a bowl of ice cubes and a spoon.

Presentation matters:

Presenting caviar with style is all about presentation. Serve caviar on a large plate or platter, with the accompaniments artfully arranged around it. To give your presentation a touch of luxury, use a mother-of-pearl or bone spoon for serving, as these materials will not affect the flavor of the caviar.

Set the mood:

When serving caviar, it is important to create the right atmosphere. Make sure your presentation looks as luxurious as possible, but also remember to keep things relaxed and casual. Light some candles, play some music and pour a few glasses of champagne or vodka, and you’ll be ready to enjoy your caviar with style.

Whether you’re a caviar connoisseur or just want to add a touch of sophistication to your next dinner party, following these tips will help you how to serve caviar with style. Don’t forget to take the time to appreciate the history and traditions behind this luxurious delicacy. Bon appetit!
