How To Reheat Chicken Wings?

The best way to reheat chicken wings is to put them in the oven, but you can also reheat them in the microwave or in a pan.

How To Reheat Chicken Wings? -In the Oven

Reheating chicken wings in the oven doesn’t take much effort and results in crispy, juicy wings. Here’s how:

  1.  If you want to reheat frozen chicken wings, let them thaw in the fridge overnight. If you want to reheat chilled chicken wings, let them sit at room temperature for 15 minutes.
  2. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  3. Grease a baking sheet with fat. Place the chicken wings on the baking sheet, leaving a little space between them. If you are worried that your chicken wings will dry out, sprinkle them with a little water before putting them in the oven.
  4. Put the plate in the oven and heat the chicken wings for 6 minutes. Flip them and reheat for another 6 minutes.

In the Microwave.

Reheating chicken wings in the microwave is the fastest method. The problem with the microwave is that the chicken wings can dry out if you’re not careful. Here’s how:

  1. Cover a microwave-safe plate with a damp paper towel. Place your chicken wings on the paper towel.
  2. Cover the chicken wings with another damp paper towel. Thus, the wings will retain their humidity.
  3. Reheat the chicken wings in the microwave for 60 seconds and test their temperature.
  4. Repeat in 20-30 second increments until you reach the desired temperature.

In the Skillet

This method is less commonly used to reheat chicken wings, but it is very effective. If you pan-fried your chicken wings, it’s best to reheat them the same way. Your cold chicken wings will come back to life and regain their crispness and juiciness. Here’s how:

  1. Let your chicken wings sit at room temperature for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Pour a drizzle of oil into the pan or add a little fat.
  3. Reheat your chicken wings for 2 to 3 minutes per side, or until golden brown. You can add sauce directly to the pan if you wish.

Final Thoughts

The oven is the ideal method for reheating chicken wings, although other methods include the microwave and a pan. Allow them to defrost in the refrigerator overnight and then set them at room temperature for 15 minutes before baking. Heat the wings in the microwave for 60 seconds, then check their temperature. Cover a microwave-safe dish with a moist paper towel. A skillet should be heated over medium heat with a dab of oil or a little amount of fat added. Reheat each side for two to three minutes more, or until golden brown. If you’d like, you may just pour the sauce right into the pan.
