How To Freeze Guacamole?

Guacamole can be frozen in its original packaging

In principle, it is possible to freeze guacamole in its original packaging if you buy it from the supermarket.

However, you should make sure that the original packaging is made of plastic, otherwise, it can burst under the pressure in the freezer. In addition, the packaging should be suitable for the freezer.

There should also be a small air pocket in the original packaging, as the guacamole will eventually expand when it is frozen.

Pack opened guacamole airtightly

If the guacamole has already been opened or you have prepared it yourself, it must first be packed airtight to prevent freezer burn and bacteria and germs from coming into contact with it.

Airtight packaging thus ensures maximum shelf life.

Under no circumstances should the period of 8 months be significantly exceeded, because then a rancid taste usually develops, which is due to the higher fat content of the guacamole.

Defrost guacamole: Gently overnight

As soon as the guacamole is to be thawed, it should be placed in the refrigerator. It is necessary because here it can thaw gently overnight.

This is necessary so that the cream has a fresh and tasty taste the next day.

It is therefore not recommended to quickly defrost them in the microwave or in a hot water bath.

Stir the guacamole well before eating
